The Calder Cannons Football Club is currently looking for undiscovered young female athletes with AFL talents that are yet to be identified in North West Suburbs of Victoria. The CCFC AFL Talent Search is focussed on identifying key skills from players that have come from a non-traditional football background.
If this interests you, a trial will be held at Rams Arena, 229 Grand Boulevard Craigieburn on the Wednesday 30th of November at 6pm. At the completion of the program, athletes that have comfortably shown potential skills and traits of TAC Cup standard and above will be asked to continue training with the club as part of the Towards Zero Calder Cannons Youth Girls Academy Squad. There’s no better time for talented and committed female athletes to alter their sporting choices and focus on pursuing an AFL career with AFL Women’s launching in 2017.
The Cannons are currently seeking expressions of interest from young female athletes for the program based on the following strict criteria:
Female and born between 1998 and 2002:
Have not had any prior experience with Australian Rules Football in any capacity. Therefore girls involved in any other individual or team sport.
Athletes should NOT be a currently registered player with a local football club.
Athletes MUST reside within the Cannons Talent Region of North West Metropolitan Victoria.
Athletes SHOULD show or possess a significant level of athletic ability. Examples include power, agility, vertical leap, endurance, speed, strength etc.
